Family Field Trip
Author Alert!!! Family Field Trip!!! Join Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Merten and their families at the Northbridge Middle School in Whitinsville, Massachusetts on June 7th at 6:30 p.m. for an author visit with Jarrett J. Krosoczka. Jarrett Krosoczka is the author of the popular Lunch Lady series. This is the first book signing for Jarrett in a long time, so the audience will fill up. Books will be available for purchase at the visit with cash or a check. If time and weather permits, we will go to West End Creamery for ice cream when we are done. This event is being hosted by The Whitinsville Social Library and should be a great time. All family members are welcome to join and cost of books and ice cream are the responsibility of each family. As this is an "after school hours event," families are responsible for supervising their student or any students that they bring to the event. We look forward to seeing you there! Please find directions to NMS from JFK here. Please find directions from NMS to West End Creamery here.

Juicy Nibble
Today we learned about some famous people who were born in the southeast region of the US. BB King was born in Mississippi and was one of the greatest Blues musicians of all time. He died in May of 2015. We listened to one of his most popular songs, The Thrill is Gone. Check out the video below!

Fourth Grade Update
We have continued to build our community with Monday Morning 4th grade meetings. This is a great opportunity for our fourth graders to reconnect with their friends after a weekend, and to start our week of right!
Our mantra for this week was "Effort is Everything", which connects nicely with ~
- Our Washington, D.C. projects (due Thursday)
- Our Fraction assessment (Today)
- The Patriots' Superbowl comeback!
We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Tuesday with Valentines and a Party in a Bag. This celebration will be in place of our regular snack.
Wednesday was a beautiful day for outdoor recess (just before the blizzard)!

Fourth Grade News
Fourth Graders worked together to create small "forests" while learning how to adapt the yoga tree pose to partner yoga! The weather hit 2 extremes this week- very, very cold on Monday, and unseasonably warm on Wednesday. We enjoyed our outdoor recess on Wednesday.
Our chorus concert was a huge success! Videos of two of our songs can be found at the links below:

Fourth Grade Update
All fourth graders learned about poet, Robert Frost, to kick off 2017! Click on the links to the videos below to hear Frost read two of his most famous poems. The poets of fourth grade did a great job identifying the metaphors in the poems and making connections to life. They are DEEP thinkers!
